Christian voter guide and journal prompts

 

🕊️ Christian Voter Reflection Guide

Use these questions for prayer and study, not to endorse anyone.

  1. Prayer First

    • Have I asked God for wisdom before I research or decide?


      James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God.”


  2. Character and Integrity

    • Does this candidate or policy show honesty, humility, and compassion?


      Proverbs 29:2 – “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.”


  3. Justice and Mercy

    • Does it treat people fairly, protect the vulnerable, and uphold righteousness?


      Micah 6:8 – “Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.”


  4. Value of Life

    • Does it respect human life and dignity—from the unborn to the elderly, the poor, the immigrant, and the prisoner?

  5. Family and Community

    • Does it strengthen families, support parents, and encourage stable communities?

  6. Stewardship

    • Is it wise with resources, caring for creation and avoiding waste?


      Genesis 2:15 – Humanity is placed “to work and take care of” the garden.


  7. Religious Freedom

    • Does it allow people to worship and live out their faith freely without forcing belief?

  8. Peace and Truth

    • Does it seek unity and truth instead of fear or division?


      Romans 12:18 – “If it is possible, live peaceably with all.”


  9. Personal Witness

    • Am I responding in love toward those who disagree with me?


      John 13:35 – “By this all will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.”


  10. Obedience Over Party

    • Am I voting from conviction before God, not simply following a group or ideology?

  1. What biblical values matter most to me when I think about my community’s wellbeing?

  2. How can I love my neighbor—even those who vote differently?

  3. What issues stir my heart when I pray for justice or mercy?

  4. How does Jesus’ teaching on the Kingdom of God shape my civic choices?

  5. When I look at candidates or policies, what fruit (Galatians 5:22–23) do I see—or not see?

  6. Have I checked whether my opinions come from Scripture or just media influence?

  7. What would it look like to “seek first the kingdom of God” (Matthew 6:33) in public life?

  8. How can I promote peace and understanding in political conversations?

  9. What passages of Scripture guide me most when I think about leadership?

After the election, how will I keep serving others and praying for those in authority?
