woman and well by telle wild rose

Do you hear ne God?
(I hide in my shame)
Are you still there?
(Do you even wish to be?)
Can't you hear my anguished cries?
(Or do you turn your face away?)
My soul is weary lord, my heart heavy..
(Give me rest)
You once said you seek your face
(Where shall I go?)
And so, unsteady, unsure and yet wondering still.
(Your face will i seek out)
Ive sinned a thousand times and yet...
(And oh how great the sum of them!)
You don't turn away, you came to the well.
(A place i thought was dried up)
You meet me in all my mess and say..
(But even broken cisterns hold some water)
Come. Drink. Take freely without measure.
(I thought I blew it this time)
Your thoughts towards me comfort me.
(Be still my fickle heart)
All of host of heaven rejoice when I look to you
(How precious am I in your sight?)
Ive been her, the adulterous woman, that it.
(So many lovers, idols, false gods)
And yes you call me out, but not to hurt, to heal
(Your words act as a balm)
This here now is my testimony
(Of the goodness of God)
Amen.
(Forever and ever)
